GBJ 201-83,The Chinese title is 土方与爆破工程施工及验收规范.And the English title is Code for Construction and Acceptance of Earthworks and Explosion Works.
The revision of the national standard the Code for Construction and Acceptance of Earth works and Explosion Works (GBJ464 Revision Edition) was done with ex-Sichuan Provincial Construction Committee being in —charge and ex-Sichuan Provincial Construction Department as editor-in-chief, together with the Ministries of Railway, Metallurgical Industry and Water Conservancy and Power and the Construction Bureaus of Liaoning, Hunan, Guizhou and Guansu and Provinces as well as the design, construction and scientific research units under the China Construction and Engineering General Corporation. It has been examined and finalized. Now it is approved to publish and report to the State Planning Committee for record. It shall be implemented from March 1, 1984 with serial number of GBJ2O1 — 83. Any question or opinion found in implementation of the Code is kindly requested to be sent to Sichuan Provincial Construction General Corporation for interpretation and future revision.
This Code, in accordance with notices of ex-State Construction Committee(79)Jian Fa Zhi No 168 and ex-State General Bureau for Construction Industry(80)No 385, was completed by revision to the national standard the Code for Construction and Acceptance of Earthworks and Explosion Works(GB J464 Revision Edition)with ex-Sichuan Provincial Construction Committee being in-charge and ex-Sichuan Provincial Construction Department as editor-in-chief and with participation of the Ministries of Railway, Metallurgical Industry and Water Conservancy and Power as well as the Second Engineering Bureau under the China Construction Engineering General Corporation, the Southwest Design Institute of China Municipal Engineering, the Southwest Survey Institute of the China Construction Engineering General Corporation, and the Construction Bureaus of Guansu Hunan, Liaoning and Guizhou Provinces.
The principle of this revision is: based on the state policies for technology and economy, the existing construction and technical level of our country as well as the future development direction were fully taken into consideration. Advance in technology, economy and reasonable, safe and applicable, and guaranteed quality were striven for. For provisions in original code, whichever are still applicable, they still remain; whichever are outdated or have more restriction, they were deleted; whichever have indefinite data or indefinite specification they were revised. Those new technologies or new scientific research fruits which have been appraised by State and have been popularized were supplemented into the Code. Foreign advance technical standards applicable to Chinas conditions were adopted.
During the revision, comprehensive investigations were made for three times as well as nationwide comment solicited twice. For some key problems, one initial examining meeting and two technical discussions were held. After repeated modifications for 5 times, the examining meeting was held in Wuhan in October 1981 with participants from relevant ministries and committees and 18 provinces and cities to examine jointly. It was examined and finalized in the examining and approving meeting held in Suzhou in June 1983.
